Every parent has something that they are very very particular about when it comes to parenting. I have a couple of things - One , I keep the promises I make to my child, unless there is a real emergency. If I promise him that I will tell him a story after he finished his food, I will tell him a story. If I promise him that he will not get a story unless he comes withing a count of 3, he knows I mean it. For me , it is extremely important to build trust with my child , by letting him know that I mean what I say. Another thing that I am particular about is the tone of voice- It could just be an idiosyncrasy of mine, but I am extremely sensitive to people's tone of voice. Someone with a jarring tone of voice will have a tough time making a positive impression on me :D Nevertheless, that is a rant for another day - but I do believe someone's tone of voice often determines the tone of their life.
